May 5, 2006 - Newtown Bee Feature Article

Late in April The Bee writer, Kendra Bobowick, met with Board President, Martha Wright, Board Treasurer and Membership Chairman, Guy
Peterson and Board Member and Land Acquisition Committee Chairman, Tim Northrop and Property Stewardship Chairman Bob Eckenrode to
discuss the NFA and its recent activities.  Although the article may portray the NFA as anti-development the NFA does have a long standing
history of working well with developers and accept their required open space contributions.  Ultimately, the NFA does have the desire to see
that all available open space be preserved in perpetuity as we strongly believe it is the only way to preserve Newtown's rural character and
farming history.  In reality, the NFA does realize that this is not practical, however, the NFA does want to let landowners know that if they want
to see their property preserved in perpetuity the NFA can provide options and advice on how this can be accomplished through many different
means.  If you want more information about these options do not hesitate to contact
Tim Northrop, our Land Acquisition Chairman or Guy
Peterson, our Treasurer, who can help.  Also feel free to leave a message at 203-270-3650 and someone will return your call.
