The NFA expresses its sincere condolences to the families affected and grieves along with the rest of
our community.  The NFA has been greatly honored to host the memorial located at our Glen
property in Sandy Hook Center.  The NFA has been approached by several donors wishing to
support planting of trees in memory of the victims.  The NFA has established a Fund to accept these
donations and will restrict the use of these funds to prepare, plant and maintain a living memorial to
honor these victims.

For almost 90 years the Newtown Forest Association
(a public charity under IRS regulations 501c(3)
has helped the community and has maintained a
memorial trail at one of its properties since 1968. All
donations are tax-deductible and those designated for the Sandy Hook School Memorial Tree Fund
will be restricted to preparing, planting and maintaining a living memorial to honor these victims.

To DONATE on-line with a Credit Card or PAYPAL - Please follow the Link and instructions therein.
They do charge a 5% fee for the service, however, it is much less costly to us than maintaining our
own Credit Card account.  They will process the donation and send us your information to enable us
to acknowledge your gift.  This link provides for you to include a "Designation" which you can denote -

The horrific events that
descended upon Sandy
Hook School on
December 14, 2012
have seen an
unprecedented
outpouring of emotion
and support by not only
our community, but from
across the United
States.  Donors have
contacted  the NFA
specifically because
they have a desire
contribute funds to see
that trees are planted in
the victims memory.
One was quoted as
having said that "a tree
grows from a small seed
to a towering and strong
symbol of life."  This
Fund was established
to honor the wishes of
donors who desire to
memorialize the victims
with trees as a living
memorial.  The NFA
takes on this
responsibility with a
heavy heart and knows
that no tree we plant, or
memorial built, will ever
replace those lost souls
but we hope they
serves to celebrate all
of the wonderful
memories those people
brought to those who
knew them.
