| DATE: JUNE 7, 2008 - TIME: 10am - noon LOCATION: Holcombe Hill & Holcombe Memorial Trail The NFA will launch its 2008 Summer Trail Hike program and celebrate CT Trail Day with a hike on June 7nd. NFA is sponsoring a hike on June 2, 2007 at the site of its Holcombe Preserves. The Hike will start at 10AM and will take approximately 2 hours; however, there is an option to shorten the hike by taking an alternative route back to the parking area. The hike will start and conclude at the parking lot at 55 Great Hill Road (not the red barn). Between the two properties the NFA owns approximately 175 acres and the hike will start through the wooded low land trails and pass through the meadows and across Birch Hill Road through the woods and impressive rock formations and back across Birch Hill Road and then to walk to the top of Holcombe Hill, the highest point in Newtown with spectacular 360 panoramic views year round. This Hike is being held in connection with the Connecticut Forest & Park Association’s Connecticut Trails Day 2008 where over 125 other statewide events are also planned. The NFA is proud to be participating in this program this year with so many other great organizations. See www.ctwoodlands. org for other events. Please wear appropriate footwear as conditions can be often wet in certain areas and bring adequate water. Rain date is Sunday June 8th at 1PM. If you have any questions please RSVP in advance by either leaving a voicemail at our office @ 203-270-3650 or via email at nfatreasurer@yahoo.com.
